Srinagar 17 Feb  (KNO) : Led by AIP Supremo and MLA Langate Er. Rasheed Inhabitants of Jablipora Anantnag carried a strong protest in Press Colony Srinagar today against efforts of 2-RR to establish a camp at Jablipora. Protesters holding play cards in their hands were chanting slogans seeking removal of Army Camp and urging Mehbooba Mufti Govt. to fulfill the promise of demilitarization. Talking to media the inhabitants alleged that army has occupied the playfield and the Panchayat Ghar despite the fact that there are already two camps existing in the area.

Statement issues to Kashmir News Observer ( KNO) said that Students as a mark of protest burned Leg guards and cricket bat and said that if the ground is occupied by Army, where will the youth go for sports and other activities. While talking to media on the occasion Er. Rasheed warned Govt. of dire consequences if it didn’t protect the rights of inhabitants of Jablipora. He said “While people are awaiting Mehbooba Mufti to fulfill her promises of demilitarization, turning south Kashmir into garrison is unacceptable and unwanted. Rather using Army to deal with the situation in towns and villages Govt. must deploy them at the borders and take concrete majors for resolution of the political dispute”.

Er. Rasheed also sought immediate arrest of all those goons who protested shamelessly seeking release of Deepak Khajuria an SPO involved in rape and murder of 8 year old Aasifa. He said “saner voices of Jammu should feel their heads down by the cowardly act of those who used tri-color to defend the murderers and rapists. It has happened first time that the fanatic elements have dared to do such a shameful act. The Public Safety Act was put in practice only to deal with the criminals like those supporting people like Khajuria and insulting tri-color.

How can raping an eight year girl and then murdering her be an act of nationalism”. Later a deputation from protesters met Divisional Commissioner Kashmir and gave him a memorandum asking not to establish the camp in Jablipora. Divisional Commissioner assured the deputation that the matter will be looked into and justice will be done with the locals within stipulated time.(KNO)
